Houghton on the Hill

We were approached by the client to look at options to extend their property as they had 4 children and were rapidly outgrowing their property. They were considering moving house in order to gain additional bedrooms and further living accommodation however, we were able to realise this additional living accommodation with extensions to their existing property.

Through an extension to the front and rear of their existing property we were able to redesign the internal layout in order to give them the additional accommodation they required. We also incorporated rooflights into the rear extension to bring light the whole way through the property. Along with the extensions they did not like the way the exterior of the house looked. As part of the design process we looked at how we could improve the appearance by adding timber cladding and also rendering the existing brickwork. This provided a more contemporary look to the property which the clients we thrilled with. The upgrading of the existing fabric has given the house a new lease of life and has also increased the value of the property.

We assisted the clients in gaining planning permission and building control approval. We then put them in contact with a local builder and they took the project onto site themselves choosing to liaise direct with the builder.
