Knighton Park Road

We were approach in early 2014 by the client to look at a plot of land in Leicester City Centre that they wanted to develop. The client was a brother and sister team who had inherited the land from their grandparents. Adjacent to the plot lies a Victorian property called Woodville which they wanted to preserve and ensure the quality of this property was not compromised by the new development.

The site is also in the Stoneygate Conservation Area which makes the project more sensitive. We held consultations with the local Conservation Society and Planners in order to understand how they would like to see the site developed. We chose to produce a design that was sympathetic to its surroundings by referencing details of other nearby properties. We also wanted to keep large gardens to the property and retain the mature trees so that the character of the area wasn’t affected.

The clients wanted to produce a design of high quality and something that they would be proud of which would be welcomed by the local residents.
