Sustainable Housing Competition
The competition brief set by a large volume housebuilder was to design a sustainable low carbon house which provided live / work space and flexibility throughout the buildings lifespan to accommodate the needs of a growing and ageing family. One of the most important aspects of the design was to create a buildng model which could be translated into high density housing to create a friendly and accessible street with a sense of place, whilst affording occupants with high levels of privacy,security and varying levels of outdoor amenity through external balconies, winter gardens and south facing courtyards.
