Side and Rear Extension – Ropsley

Located in the small village of Ropsley near Grantham, this small cottage was refurbished and extension over a single storey to create a large family home. The clients preference was for the more traditional look and wanted to create something that was in keeping with the village and the original property. We used reclaimed bricks and pantiles keeping the materials sympathetic. From the road we wanted to reduce the mass of the property so created the majority of the living accommodation to the rear. At the clients request we incorporated reclaimed timber beams and doors into the project along with second hand doors and restored glass windows to give the property the traditional feel. The large glass doors mean the clients can get a clear view of their garden and their many chickens and ducks!
