2 Sisters Food Group

Hayward McMullan were initially appointed by 2 Sisters Food Group and Amber Foods to undertake feasibility studies for this primary processing poultry facility in Scunthorpe in October 2015. An intensive design process was undertaken with a multi disciplinary design team to undertake detailed designs for a new in line chiller building, a new cutting facility and new lairage to increase overall processing capacity. Work was completed within eight months and completed in December 2016, this site represents one of the only poultry processing facilities in Europe to incorporate Meyn Hollands controlled atmosphere stunning and kill system with automated unloading system.

The completed cutting facility completed in October 2016 is one of the most state of the art cutting facilities in the UK, incorporating integrated process machinery from Meyn, Marel,Bizerba and ProSeal connected with GSR conveyors. Hayward McMullan appointed as principal designer in line with CDM 2015 worked closely with the Design and Build principal Contractor S&W Design and Build to achieve a highly finished, hygienic cutting hall with custom designed stainless steel hygienic food grade drainage, kerbing, flooring and walling.
